Where we're going, and what I'll do

What matters to me

Oregon is a welcoming community that has been great to my wife and me. I want to make sure that it stays great for those who have been here a long time, and continues to be an attractive option for those looking to put down new roots. I want to see Oregon continue to grow. There are a few major areas that I think we need to focus on to make sure this happens.

Vibrant downtown

Downtown can be the heart of a community. I want to see the number of businesses downtown, as well as the number of services offered, grow. We should feature and develop locally owned businesses and support Oregon's entrepreneurs.

I would like to see the services offered increase as the village grows. I'm excited to see improvements to the senior center, and can't wait to get a new space for the library so it can offer more materials and more events for the community.

inclusive community

The folks in Oregon have made me feel right at home in the three years I've lived here. I want to ensure it makes others feel welcomed. This means not only supporting events for a range of interests, but also making sure that community services are available for those that need them.

A diverse community is a strong community, including both residents and visitors. I look forward to meeting, and learning from, as many Oregon residents as I can.

reliable services

As Oregon grows, the services we provide will have to match. We will need to plan for the future and anticipate where changes will be needed, as opposed to reacting once there is a problem. Proactive planning is vital to a growing community.

Thoughtful planning and regular input from the community will help us make sure that the village's growth will be seamless and positive. We need the snow plows and garbage trucks to be on time, regardless of how large the village gets.
